Description
Haunted by a Poem...
The words swirl and dance in her mind until Ella Montclair is forced to commit them to paper. The poem haunts her every night before she falls asleep, the meaning of its words elusive. To keep her sanity she blocks the words from her mind.

An Unexpected Job Opportunity...
Ella can't believe her good fortune when she receives the job of a lifetime, research assistant to the great Lord Byron Thomas himself, and she will live in his Farnham Village Country Manor just outside of London. As she is packing for her exciting journey, the poem that haunted her all those years ago resurfaces, leaving her to question fate. Why now? Why would these words resurface when she's about to embark on the greatest adventure of her life? What does it mean?

A Painting or a Portal...
Exploring Farnham Castle, her employer's latest research project, Ella finds an antique painting in one of the abandoned rooms. Compelled by an unseen force to touch the picture, Ella is transported back to 1888 to the bedroom of Lord Wallace Hastings. Words of her poem begin to resurface as Ella struggles to find a way back to her time and the world she knows, and she again questions their meaning. Will mear words haunting Ella from the past be her key back to her own time? What of the love she's begun to feel for the dashing Lord Hastings? Will the words of the poem that transported her Far Into Yesterday, bring her home again?

Excerpt:
Ella heard the snort of a horse before she saw it. They rounded a tree and stopped within fifteen feet of two magnificent animals; equine and human.
“Did anyone see you, Mother?”
“Only a few servants. It is still too early for the guests to be up and about, thank goodness.”
“Excellent.”
Lord Hastings dismounted and walked forward with the reins in his hands. Before Ella was cognizant of his intent, his hands were spanning her waist, lifting her onto the stallion, side-saddle.
She gave a little squeak, and grabbed the saddle horn. Lord Hastings swung up behind her. Tucked against his body, with his arms encircling her to grasp the reins, Ella was trapped in a prison of sinewy flesh and muscle, her head pressed snugly against his collar bone. She felt him nod toward his mother before flicking the reins of his horse and turning the beast in the opposite direction. The action jarred Ella against his rock solid chest. Her heart raced. She took a steadying breath. Mingled with that breath, however, the smells of forest, horse, and enticing male, evoked another stanza from the poem.

A passing fragrance,
Evoking nostalgic impressions,
Causes my breath to come deep.
The scent of his time
Makes me wish it was mine.
