Description
In the dual-gendered realm of Ylandre, the great divide between the high-born True Bloods and the lower-ranked Half Bloods is deemed impassable by most. Rohyr Essendri dared to cross it when he took young Lassen Idana from his provincial town and made him his paramour. Lassen perforce learned how to navigate the intricate byways of life at court. What he never expected, however, was to fall in love with Rohyr, a most inadvisable and impractical thing to do when one’s lover is sovereign ruler of the land. But anything worth having is worth fighting for, both figuratively and, as Lassen discovers, literally speaking. Reader Rating:

I absolutely loved this story. I look forward to the next from this author.Submitted By: MJJ260 on Jan 2, 2011
I am typically picky about reading fantasy stories (I stick to fantasy authors I know; on a whim I bought this book. Dual gendered? I knew what that meant! I was very happily surprised at how well developed the characters and the world was by the author! I bought the sequel before I finished this one. My only criticism is that I would have loved a map of the world. Great book and great author. Hope to see a book 3 soon!Submitted By: sfrizell on Aug 22, 2010
Loved it, loved it, LOVED it! The world was believable and well thought out and the characters fully fleshed out. Obviously a great deal of thought and research went into the writing of this book.
Lassen catches the eye of the Ardan, Rohyr and is given to him to help the survival of his town of birth. Lassen has innumerable adjustments to make and must mature quickly in order to survive court intrigues.Sacred Fate
