William Wordsworth was an English poet who helped to form the Romantic Age. Wordsworth's best work is considered to be The Prelude, a semi-autobiographical poem about his early years. Wordsworth's first published poetry was the collections An Evening Walk and Descriptive Sketches (1793). In 1843 Wordsworth became Poet Laureate. Alfred Lord Tennyson was a 19th century Poet Laureate in the United Kingdom who is recognized as one of the greatest poets of modern times. A few of his more famous poems are "The Charge of the Light Brigade", "Tears, idle tears" and "Crossing the Bar". Much of his work is based on mythology.
