Description

Spellbound-Legend is a fascinating read full of Irish and Scottish lore, from the fae to druids, the author weaves the present with the past in way that will have fans of paranormal enthralled. Solid character development makes this story even more realistic. Spellbound-Legend is the first in a new series by author Claudy Conn, who has written, historical and regencies, previously as Claudette Williams/Melanie Davis. Fantastic read. A life-changing journey brings danger, awakening, and more importantly, passion in Spellbound � Legend. I�ll say right off the top that this is one hot and thrilling book. I fell for all three of the main characters, fun loving Maxie, dark and brooding Julian, and one hot Fae, Breslyn. However, it wasn�t just the characters that kept me on the edge of my seat, it was the entire involved plot that included jealously, betrayal, magic, murder, and, of course, hot passion just to name a few items. By the time I turned the last page, I had found that at least one couple had discovered their love but no one was safe quite yet. Like all good thrillers, it seemed as one problem was solved another would spring up. The last few pages had me hoping that this is the first of a new series that will be worth each torturous wait for the next book. The well-written out mixture of myth and legend, not to mention the characters, all in today�s world has me. The setting descriptions, along with the emotions depicted are wonderful. The author pulled this reader right into the scenes with Maxie, Julian and Breslyn, where she experienced the same emotions and fears as the characters. Their dangerous situations had me on the edge of my seat, while the loves scenes had me enthralled.

Talk about steam . . . Spellbound - Legend has all the elements needed to get your heart racing and in a good way. Claudy Conn has stepped onto the stage of paranormal romance writing and is going to give Harris, Hamilton, and Feehan a fight for their audiences. Conn is a master story teller returned to give us more of what we want. I don't know which is hotter Breslyn, Prince of Dagda or Julian of Talbot?! I am so conflicted! Best of all, Spellbound is just the beginning of an incredible new series.

It pulled me in from the first page. Claudy Conn has created a world of Fae and Earth where the Druids still have descendants working with the Fae. This is the first in Conn's Legend series where Fae, Dark Fae, Druids and 'vampire-like' creatures are out to protect, feed upon or ruthlessly rule over humans.
What would you do; how would you feel as a modern young woman of twenty-one, who, while you do have visions, thinks of yourself as a normal young woman, albeit with no love life to speak of, and then you're told some kind of mythical creature is out to get you? Well that's what Maxie is dealing with.
This has a very good story line, well developed characters, action, a couple of evil plots, chemistry and romance.

WOW!!! This book grabbed me from page one. Claudyâs writing is so good. She has written a world with Fae, Druids, Humans, Dark Fae, and an evil vampire like creature who are either going to protect or rule over the humans.
Maxine is a Druid priestess with a legacy going back to 1814. But dealing with the visions she has had since a child and now trying to deal with the evil like vampire creature trying to kill her she must rely on the Fae Prince Breslyn (who exudes sex) and the brooding, sexy Druid Priest Julian Talbot with his own tortured past tied with Maxineâs legacy.
The chemistry between Maxine and the two leading men is HOT. But with an immortal Fae Prince who can pop in and out and a sexy Druid Priest who canât let go of his past love who could be Maxineâs twin is enough of a reminder for her to stay away from both. But Maxineâs heart doesnât know if she can.
Claudy Conn is an author to watch and I have now added her to my buy list. If you love books with sexy men, romance, action, and characters you can relate to and love than this book is for you. 5/5 stars

Soooo once again Claudy Conn writes another amazing story full of twists and turns leaving you wondering how it's going to happen, when it's going to happen. There of course is a love triangle who to choose who to be with. Who's better. I'm happy to say she chose the one I thought she would. Feels smart!

Julian’s bright blue eyes were veiled; his tone was low and held dangerous promise. He nodded at the prince. “Well done on all fronts. The fortune you have amassed for my estate will serve me very nicely. I mean to use whatever funds it will take to bring down the DuLaine.” Rage—bitter and only just contained—lined his words.“That is our common cause, and, Julian, it won’t take money. It will take—” Julian interrupted harshly. “Me. It will take me, Breslyn, make no mistake.” Breslyn shrugged. “One can only hope this time you will use some caution.” “This time I will use everything it takes,” Julian snapped. The prince chose to ignore him and took Maxie’s glass of wine from her without lifting his silver eyes away from hers. He sipped from her glass, and when he gave it back to her, he made sure she had it in place so that her lips would touch where his lips had been. It was bold, and it was infinitely sexy. Maxie didn’t ordinarily allow guys to get away with stuff like that, but she thought as she bit her bottom lip, These are not ordinary circumstances, and Breslyn is no ordinary guy! Flirting was good, she excused herself. Flirting was fun. When did a girl ever get to flirt with a Fae prince and have a hunk looking on? She downed her glass of wine. Fae twisted love story. Throw in a couple of humans (good & bad) & mix. Slow, but well written. Several stories & myths twisted together, takes a few new turns, with multiple love stories (not all healthy) & under currents. Worth an afternoon read. Submitted By: anonymoose on Mar 18, 2012
I don't understand why this book has so many high recommendations. I found the writing and dialogue stilted and wooden. There was too much "telling" for explanation & not enough "showing." The heroine kept conveniently forgetting to tell people vital life & death details until much later. The 2nd half was easier to read but I was tempted to just stop reading altogether. I've read other books by this author & they were better. This one doesn't make me want to read the rest of the series at all.Submitted By: anonom on Mar 8, 2012
