The Duchess War (The Brothers Sinister) by Courtney Milan - Romance>Historical Regency
Miss Minerva Lane is a quiet, bespectacled wallflower, and she wants to keep it that way. After all, the last time she was the center of attention, it ended badly--so badly that she changed her name to escape her scandalous past. Wallflowers may not be the prettiest of blooms, but at least they don't get trampled. So when a handsome duke comes to town, the last thing she wants is his attention.
But that is precisely what she gets.
Because Robert Blaisdell, the Duke of Clermont, is not fooled. When Minnie figures out what he's up to, he realizes there is more to her than her spectacles and her quiet ways. And he's determined to lay her every secret bare before she can discover his. But this time, one shy miss may prove to be more than his match...

In fact, I got so caught up in the drama and affairs of Minnie and Robert (not to mention their passion) that I read the whole novel in a single sitting! Yes, my whole day has gone to this book and I'm not even mad about my lack of productivity! Great idea to offer this one for free - like a drug dealer, get 'em hooked and they'll come back for more! Worked on me, at least.

Courtney Milan's characters hv amazing depth n their principles are truly laudable. She creates the most amazingly different n unexpected stories with characters who are so alive u cannot but help love them. Robert is a duke but his ambition is to eradicate the unfairness to the peerage. Minnie has disguised her true self in 1 way or another since a child. Both are emot
