The Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston - Romance>Paranormal/Horror
Mace Llewellyn. Brendon Shaw. Two tall, gorgeous, sexy alpha heroes who are 100% male--with a little something extra. Lion-shifters, to be exact, who can unleash every woman's animal side and still look good--make that spectacular--in a suit...and even better out of it...
NYPD cop Desiree "Dez" MacDermot knows she's changed a lot since she palled around with her childhood buddy, Mace. But it's fair to say that Mace has changed even more. It isn't just those too-sexy gold eyes, or the six-four, built-like-a-Navy Seal body. It's something in the way he sniffs her neck and purrs, making her entire body tingle...Meanwhile, for Tennessean Ronnie Lee Reed, New York City is the place where any girl--even one who runs with a Pack--can redefine herself. First order of business: find a mate, settle down, and stop using men for sex. Even big, gorgeous, lion shifter men like Brendon Shaw. But she needn't worry, because now that Brendon's set his sights on her, the predator in him is ready to pounce and never let go...

Submitted By: sarahd123 on Jan 31, 2015good book. I enjoyed the dynamics between the characters and the story line was pretty interesting but it felt like something was missing in it for me.
Submitted By: neneburge on Jul 7, 2013I am reading all this series totally out of order but I am loving every book! When I start one I cannot put it down until I am finished...this one was no exception!! Loved it!
Submitted By: JenCW on Jan 5, 2013Two good stories that fit well with the types of characters Shelly Laurenston typically writes. I liked Mace's story a bit better, but Brendon redeems himself from one story to the next. Great additions to my reading library. I still reread these stories.
Submitted By: blueisland23 on Mar 16, 2011The first 2 stories in the Pride Series. Loved the stories and the characters. Great dialogue and great characters you love to hate! I really enjoyed this series so far.
Submitted By: pollekeskisses on Jan 19, 2011These books are amazing, really are, about love, acceptance and so much more. Plus action, bad guys, good guys. Do I need to say more? Go read already! If you want the full experience of these books. Don't read just one, but read all of Shelly Laurenston's shifter-related books. I personally didn't read them in the right order, but I do recommend you do. Because if you don't, you'll miss out here and there.
